Our Story
The team behind KnowDiabetes comes from a strong background in commercial, technical, medical and scientific affair roles in diabetes care in Australia and overseas.
We saw that despite numerous innovative & latest therapy options and medical devices, many people with diabetes didn’t achieve their desired health outcomes. We also saw the under utilisation of highly valuable services offered by Credentialled Diabetes Educators and other diabetes experts.
Our Mission
Our mission is to enable easy access to diabetes education, care and services to support people living with diabetes.
We support self-management for people with diabetes by bringing services of Credentialled Diabetes Educators (CDEs) and other diabetes experts through our integrated digital platform.

Our Advisors
Dr Ashley Ng
Ashley is a diabetes advocate, accredited practicing dietitian and lecturer at La Trobe University. Through her own lived experiences with the healthcare system and research, she has developed a passion in digital health, chronic disease management and education, community engagement and co-design research.
Dr Alan Barclay
An Accredited Practising Dietitian and Nutritionist with over 25 years of experience in clinical dietetics, public health and academia. Alan has got a special interest in food law, overweight/obesity and diabetes. Alan is also an author of (Reversing Diabetes, The Good Carbs Cookbook, Low GI Diet Diabetes Handbook, Low GI Diet Managing Type 2 Diabetes and The Ultimate Guide to Sugars and Sweeteners) and blogger (http://ginews.blogspot.com.au).
Jayne Lehmann
Jayne is a well established Credentialled Diabetes Educator, expert in diabetes care, support and education with 35 years of experience. Jayne is multi-skilled having designed and delivered innovative and effective diabetes care services, online services, education resources and strategies to improve diabetes management across Australia.
Kirrily Chambers
Advanced Practice Pharmacist (B PHARM), Credentialled Diabetes Educator, Adv Dip Nut Pharm, Grad. Dip. App. Pharma. Prac. Kirrily was the 2019 UTS Innovative Pharmacist of the Year, 2016 CDE of the Year and has received many other Awards over the course of her career. Kirrily became the first pharmacist Credentialled Diabetes Educator in Australia ten years ago and continues to lead the evolution of diabetes care by community pharmacists in primary care.
Sally Double
Sal is a credentialled diabetes educator and certified insulin pump trainer.
Her passion is to help people access information and tools to manage their diabetes. Special interest in insulin pump therapy; Continuous glucose monitoring(CGM)systems and diabetes in pregnancy and sport.
Her aim is to apply best practice in combination with real life daily challenges to develop individualised strategies to achieve best health outcomes and allow people to feel in control of their diabetes.
Our Team
Dr George Koumantakis
45 years experience in both clinical and commercial arenas. George was Principal Hospital Scientist of the Chemical Pathology at Royal North Shore Hospital of Sydney for 20 years. The last 25 years George has spent with Roche Diagnostics and Diabetes Care in management roles that include medical, scientific, regulatory and compliance.
Simmi Dhussa Verma
Over 20 years’ experience in IT Operations and Services in education and healthcare including Roche Diabetes Care Australia, Boehringer Ingelheim ANZ, Mother’s Pride and NIIT India
Extensive experience in global IT projects including Customer Insights Management, Web Development Solutions, and Business Data Analytics
